FIFA has decided to partially satisfy the claim of Shakhtar Donetsk against Galatasaray and Brazilian footballer Tete. This was reported by the official website of the Turkish club.
The organization obliged to pay Donetschany 2,389,776 euros. Also Galatasaray and the footballer himself must pay Shakhtar additional compensation in the amount of 5% per annum, which will accrue until the date of payment.
In the spring of 2022, after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, Tete used FIFA's right and suspended his contract with Shakhtar before moving to Lyon.
The Brazilian also visited English Leicester, after which he unilaterally terminated his contract with the Pitmen and joined Galatasaray. It is worth noting that at the time of his transfer to the Turkish club, Transfermarkt estimated the winger at €25 million.
The Turkish club also informed that they are already challenging the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne.
