The current contract of the current coach of the Romanian national team Edward Iordanescu expires at the end of this month, and no one in Romania doubts that there will be no extension of cooperation with this specialist. Moreover, after Euro-2024 he said that "it's time to devote more time to his family".

According to the Romanian media, the priority candidates for the post of head coach of the Romanian national team are the former coach of Dynamo Kiev Mircea Lucescu, who is still unemployed, and another legend of domestic soccer - Gheorghe Hadji.

Lucescu has repeatedly stated that he categorically does not see his return to the national team, but in Romania do not rule out that the 78-year-old specialist will still accept such a challenge and try to lead the national team to the World Cup-2026.

As for Hadji, he has been in charge of Romanian Farul for the last two years, and the question of whether he will want to leave his current position remains open.

We would like to add that Mirel Redoi, Adrian Mutu, Laszlo Boloni and Laurenziu Regekampf are named as secondary candidates for the post of head coach of the Romanian national team.
