On Thursday, July 18, Dynamo Kyiv played the final control match at the off-season training camp in Austria. The opponent of Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's team was German Union.

Warning: Popov (84).
"Dynamo: Buschan (Nescheret, 70), Vivcharenko, Popov, Malysh, Karavaev (Ceballos, 80), Brazhko, Kabaev (Diallo, 80), Pihalionok (Lonwijk, 70), Voloshin (Yarmolenko, 46), Buyalsky (Shaparenko, 70), Vanat (Shepelev, 80).
"Union" (starting lineup): Stein, Vogt, Jekel, Leite, Gosens, Prtain, Hollerbach, Haberer, Skarke, Trimmel, Tusar.
The match started cautiously enough on the part of both teams: both Dynamo and Union chose the tactics of positional attacks, emphasizing on defensive actions. However, it was Dynamo who created the first dangerous moment in the game. In the 10th minute of the match, Vanat broke away from his opponent and shot low from the penalty line - the ball flew near the bar.
Literally in the next attack Vanat managed to hit the goal of "Union", but a little earlier the main referee of the match recorded an offside position and canceled the goal. It seemed that Kyivians completely seized the initiative and were close to "close" Berliners on their half of the field, but in the 14th minute of the meeting it was "Union" that managed to unexpectedly lead in the score. Karavaev fouled an opponent in his own penalty area and the referee immediately called a penalty. Hollerbach performed a penalty unsurely, shot in the center of the goal - Buschan managed to parry his shot, but the striker was able to play ahead and get the ball into an empty net - 0:1.
After conceding such an unfortunate goal, the Bilo-Syni immediately stepped up in attack. Our team needed a lot of time to equalize - already at the end of the first half. After a corner kick, Karavaev shot from the fly, and Popov sent the ball into the goal, which was first blocked by the defenders, but Vanat was nearby and shot accurately - 1:1.
The second half also started with numerous fouls from the side of Union, whose players played frankly rude. Dynamo players tried to open the rich defense of the Berliners due to the speed qualities of their leaders, but often everything ended with a violation of rules by the players of the Bundesliga representative.
It is noteworthy that starting from the middle of the second half, the scenario of the first half was almost one and the same. "Union" managed to unexpectedly take the lead again thanks to an accurate shot from Bedija. The Bilo-Syni had 10 minutes left to avoid defeat, and the Dynamo players managed to find their moment to take the opponents' goal. In the 83rd minute, Lonwijk made a great pass into the Berliners' penalty box to Diallo, who shot accurately into the far corner - 2:2.
It seemed that the match would end in a draw, but in the second half extra time "Union" still managed to snatch the victory - 2:3.
This is the end of the cycle of control matches in the summer off-season for Dynamo. Next Tuesday, July 23, in Lublin, Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's team will play the first match of the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League against Serbian Partizan. The kick-off is at 21:00 Kyiv time.
