"Metalist 1925 received letters from the UPL and PFL stating that due to the situation with Dnipro-1, Ukrainian football officials agreed that it would be fair if the following clubs compete for the right to replace the Dnipro team in the upcoming UPL season: "Metalist 1925, Minai, Livyi Bereh and Epicenter.
"By now, these clubs should have already provided their answers to the competent authorities regarding their willingness and ability to compete for the right to play in the Premier League.
As Andriy Nedelin, CEO of Metalist 1925, told the club's press service, the team has already provided a positive response.
"If indeed Dnipro-1's place in the UPL becomes vacant, we believe it will be fair if these 4 teams playfor it.However, all parties, unfortunately, have little time to prepare the teams for this tournament, organize it, and start the new season. Therefore, all stakeholders must show their best qualities and not delay their responses, as we are unfortunately already seeing. All the details should be agreed upon as soon as possible so that the teams can focus on the sporting component, not the office one. And to compete for a place in the UPL on the football field," said Nedelin.
The proposal to determine the Premier League participant through a 4-team mini-tournament remains a priority for Ukrainian football authorities. But not all the clubs that have been invited to participate have responded yet. We hope that they will do so as soon as possible and thus the tournament for a place in the UPL will become possible and, accordingly, all Ukrainian football will cease to be in limbo, because all divisions of Ukrainian football depend on it," reads the message on the official telegram channel of Metalist 1925.
