Ihor Hryshchenko: "I do not understand why the UPL sent the issue of Dnipro-1 to the UAF for consideration"

UAF Secretary General Ihor Hryshchenko explained why the UAF refused to deprive Dnipro-1 of its certificate of participation in the UPL.

- "Dnipro-1 was granted the right to participate in European competitions, so the results of its certification were also submitted to UEFA. UEFA conducted its own review of Dnipro-1's compliance with the criteria and confirmed that Dnipro-1 met UEFA's requirements for participation in the competition and admitted them to the Conference League. At that time, Dnipro-1 met all the licensing requirements of both the UAF and UEFA to participate in the UPL and the Conference League.

The certificate is revoked, in particular, as a result of the club's exclusion from the UPL or PFL competitions. For example, if we are talking about the situation that developed as of yesterday with Dnipro-1's membership in the UPL, the UPL had exclusive powers, exclusive competence to decide to expel Dnipro-1 because it did not fulfill certain requirements set out in the Premier League regulations and the decision of the Premier League Directorate regarding the application on a certain date, payment of the fee on a certain date. These are all internal decisions of the UPL. And the violation of these UPL decisions is the basis for the Premier League itself to make a decision about the future of Dnipro-1.

I do not know and do not understand why the UPL sent this issue to the UAF for consideration. Because at that time, this issue was within the exclusive competence of the UPL, as we informed them in our official letter. Everything was described in great detail, including the procedure for making relevant decisions," said Hryshchenko.
