A number of Spanish sources report that Atletico Madrid are very close to the transfer of the Ukrainian striker of Girona Artem Dovbik.
According to Relevo, the personal contract of 27-year-old footballer with the "matrasniki" is fully agreed, and the clubs are at the final stage of negotiations to formalize the transfer of the Ukrainian.
At the same time, authoritative publications AS and Marca reveal the financial details of the future deal, as well as provide a complete chronology of negotiations between Atletico and Girona.
The Madrid club sent the first request for Dovbik to the Catalans in late May, offering 25 million euros for the striker. "Girona" responded with a categorical refusal, referring to the amount of payoff for the Ukrainian, fixed in his contract - 40 million euros. Atletico were scared off and the negotiations stopped.
The departure of Atletico striker Alvaro Morata to Italian AC Milan changed everything: he forced the Matrasniki to return to the option of Dovbik's transfer, and recently negotiations with Girona resumed, and this time they began to take place with a much higher intensity.
As a result, according to sources, Atletico and Girona are close to concluding an agreement on the transfer of the Ukrainian striker on the following financial terms: the transfer amount will be 30 million euros, and another 5 million euros the Catalan club will receive in the form of various bonuses.
