Oleh Fedorchuk: "I would advise Skrypnyk to take a break in his coaching career"

Famous Ukrainian coach and authoritative expert Oleg Fedorchuk expressed his opinion on the resignation of Kharkiv "Metalist 1925" coach Viktor Skrypnyk Viktor Skrypnyk, which was officially announced yesterday.

"There is a concept in soccer: to find your team. So, after returning to Ukraine, Viktor Skrypnyk managed to prove himself only in Zorya, where there were quality performers for his favorite rhombus game in the middle of the field.

Perhaps, in the future opponents of the teams, which were led by Skrypnyk, managed to find counterarguments against this formation, or maybe there was a banal lack of players who could quickly pass the ball with subsequent cut passes, but in "Vorskla" and, especially, in "Metalist 1925" everything went wrong.

In my opinion, Skrypnyk should have resigned after last season, when Kharkiv team managed to take the last place in the UPL and fell to the First League. But the specialist, who was given ideal conditions for work, only announced a quick return to the elite. Again, the club owners spared no expense in acquiring new recruits, without paying attention to whether they fit Skrypnyk's "rhombus" game. And he, it seems, was not going to adopt other tactical schemes.

As a result, everything ended with the expected failure already in the additional mini-tournament for the right to replace Dnipro-1 in the UPL. In the semifinals Slobozhantsy, although saved from defeat at the end of the game with "Left Bank", lost in a penalty shootout. After that even very optimistic Metalist 1925 management despaired in Skrypnyk's abilities, and the contract was terminated by mutual consent of the parties.

What's next? I would advise Skrypnyk to take a break in coaching for a year. Energy reserves are not unlimited, and the human body needs recharging. And then start again, although I don't think it will happen in any Ukrainian team," Fedorchuk said.
