Captain and defender of Belgrade Partizan Svetozar Markovic commented on his team's crushing defeat in the two-match confrontation with Dynamo Kyiv (2:6, 0:3) in the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League.
"A bad game that is simply unacceptable! We conceded nine goals in two matches and the overall result shows the difference between us and Dynamo. We need to defend better as a team, more players need to be involved in defense.
In the first match against Dynamo we looked good in the first half an hour, but then we conceded three goals in five minutes. It is very difficult to cope with such a scenario psychologically, but we had to motivate ourselves for the return match. Yes, we lost badly in Lublin, but we had to play better at our own stadium and show a higher level of commitment.
Now we have a task to forget about these two defeats as soon as possible, to focus on the next match and win it. The most important match for us is on Sunday, against Zeljezničar, in the championship. We need a win in it to get back on the winning track, especially before facing Lugano in the Europa League qualification. The history with Dinamo must not happen again, we looked bad in every sense," Markovic said in his flash interview after the match with Dinamo.
