Arsenal and Ukraine defender Oleksandr Zinchenko spoke about his desire to play at the 2024 Olympic Games. The footballer's words are reported by the press service of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
- Of course, I try to follow the Olympics, including the Ukrainian team. Now that I'm in Washington, it's a bit difficult because of the time difference, but I can still see all the results, all the statistics in real time.
- Have you thought about joining the Ukrainian national team at the Olympics?
- Of course, I've had conversations about it and had opportunities, but it's very difficult to implement because there is a difference in the schedules of my team and the national team. But for the future, it would be an incredible experience because Gabriel Jesus told me about his participation in the 2016 Olympics in Brazil and everything he said was incredible. I would like to experience that someday as well.
- Besides football, what sport are you most interested in at the Olympics? Which Ukrainian athletes do you support?
- I can't say which sport I like the most. Maybe tennis. Now we, Ukrainians, have to support each other in any sport because we are going through hard times, especially during these Olympics. It would be nice to cheer for every athlete live, but if I don't have that opportunity, I still want to follow them. So I can't say which sport I like - I like all sports.
