As previously reported, 18-year-old Dynamo Kyiv striker Matviy Ponomarenko has been nominated for the Champions League on the A list.
This fact caused surprise among the fans of the "white and blues", because who else but Matvey, who has been in the club's system since the age of seven, should be considered its pupil.
As it became known to Dynamo.kiev.ua, it is all the fault of... Zorya. The fact is that, according to UEFA rules, a club's pupil must play for its teams for at least two seasons continuously starting from the age of 15. And Ponomarenko spent the 2022/2023 season on loan at the Luhansk club, thus "breaking" his three years into three parts.
