The press service of Dynamo Kyiv commented on the appointment of Mircea Lucescu as the head coach of the Romanian national team.
"Former Dynamo head coach Mircea Lucescu has become the new coach of the Romanian national team. This is the second time the outstanding specialist has taken this position - for the first time, Lucescu led his country's national team back in 1981.
After leaving Dynamo, Mircea had a number of options for continuing his coaching career, but he chose the Romanian national team.
A huge level of responsibility is exactly what always accompanied Lucescu during his work as a coach. And now, at the age of 79, he is returning as a mentor to the main team of his native country. This deserves respect!
FC Dynamo wishes Mircea Lucescu success and victories with the Romanian national team!" the statement reads.
