UEFA has appointed referees for the return match of the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League between Scottish Rangers and Dynamo Kyiv, which will be held next Tuesday, August 13, in Glasgow.

Marco Guida

All referees represent Italy. The on-field referee is Marco Guida. He will be assisted on the lines by Filippo Meli and Stefano Alassio. Fourth referee: Ermanno Feliciani. Also the VAR video assisted refereeing system will be used at the match under the direction of Aleandro Di Paolo.

As for the head referee of the upcoming match, the 43-year-old Guida has been refereeing international matches since 2014, and during that time he has worked 67 such matches (total at club and national team level in competitions of all age categories).

Guida was one of the referees who worked at Euro 2024. At this tournament, the Italian worked at two matches of the group stage: Portugal - Czech Republic (2:1) and France - Poland (1:1).

It will not be the first time that Guida will serve the match with Dynamo Kyiv: he worked at the away match between Kyiv and Bayern Munich (0:5) in the group stage of the Champions League season-2021/22.

The Italian has not yet had any other meetings with representatives of Ukraine both at club and national team level.

Guida can be called a rather strict referee: he shows an average of 5 yellow cards per match (Marco resorts to direct penalties in about every 7th match). The Italian awards penalties on average in every third match.
