London Arsenal met in a friendly match with German champion Bayer Leverkusen.
The match was marked by the return to the Emirates of former Gunners captain Granit Xhaka. Before the match, the message "Welcome back, Granit" appeared on the stadium scoreboard.
The Swiss played for Arsenal from 2016 to 2023. During this time, Granit played 225 matches for the London team and scored 17 goals.
"The Gunners won a convincing 4-1 victory. Goals for Arsenal were scored by Oleksandr Zinchenko, Leandro Trossar, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. The German champions responded with a consolation goal by Adam Glozek.
