The Romanian Football Federation officially announced the appointment of 79-year-old coach Mircea Lucescu as the head coach of the Romanian national team.
Despite numerous publications in the Romanian press that Alexandru Spiridon has joined his coaching staff, Moldfootball.com managed to find out from reliable sources that this is not the case.
As a reminder, 64-year-old Spiridon did not work anywhere else after leaving the Moldovan national team in 2019, although he could have joined Lucescu's coaching staff at Dynamo Kyiv in 2020.
