Dynamo head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi commented on the away victory over Veres (2-1) in the Ukrainian league at a press conference.
Oleksandr Shovkovskyi- First of all, I congratulate everyone on the start of the new championship. And I want to thank our defenders for this opportunity to play matches and give positive emotions to everyone who loves and supports football.
We completely controlled the game in the first half, there was only one team on the football field. We scored two goals, we could have scored at least three more, but unfortunately we didn't. In the second half, too, we had the game under our control until we conceded an unnecessary goal, which gave hope to our opponents, who ran forward. At the same time, we could have scored more, but at the end of the match Ruslan Neshcheret also played well - in principle, the way a Dynamo Kyiv goalkeeper should play.
So, I congratulate our fans on the victory. But the victory, of course, is with a little bit of a flavor, because we had to play this game more calmly and successfully in terms of implementation.
- After the first half, Dynamo led confidently. Can you say that Veres surprised you in the second half?
- We surprised ourselves. "Veres did not surprise us with anything.
- After this match, did you get enough information before the match in Glasgow?
- You know, today I received information about the players' actions on the pitch. I will analyze it, and tomorrow, and maybe even the day after tomorrow, I will think directly and prepare for the upcoming game with Rangers. I need to analyze everything. Now it is wrong to draw any conclusions on emotions, in my opinion.
- Did you fulfill all your instructions for the game today?
- Before we conceded the goal, in principle, we played as we had agreed. Of course, the fact that we played two days later on the third day, we had a seven-hour drive, had an impact. But we need to adapt to this, because there is no other way for us. So, in principle, today we used a rotation and gave four players a rest.
