The leaders of the Italian Serie A want to limit time delays in a football match by bolbois.
According to Il Messaggero, starting next season, bolbois will no longer serve balls to players after a throw-in or a goal kick. The young assistants will continue to be present at the stadium, but will be responsible for collecting the balls and placing them in cone-shaped containers scattered around the field.
The new innovation, introduced a few years ago in the English Premier League, has a specific goal - to avoid strategic time wasting.
Thus, Serie A pitches will have six balls located on the side of the coaches' benches on cones, and another 5 balls on the other side at a minimum distance of 2.5 meters from the sideline. This new method was tested and successfully approved in the last Italian Cup final between Juventus and Atalanta last May.
