"Emotions have nothing to do with it!". Why Vernydub did not shake hands with Lupashko - an explanation from Kryvbas CEO

Kryvbas CEO Volodymyr Bayenko commented on the scandalous situation surrounding the Ukrainian championship match against Karpaty, after which Yuriy Vernydub did not shake hands with Vladyslav Lupashko.

Yuriy Vernydub and Vladislav Lupashko

"Look, every action has a reason, and this situation is no exception. Now Vladyslav [Lupashko] is pretending that nothing happened and Yuriy Mykolayovych didn't notice him, but he knows perfectly well that this is not the case. Vernydub is an emotional coach, but emotions have nothing to do with it. This is a normal reaction to the words and actions of the Karpaty staff during the match. Especially to the episode that happened after the third goal.

I am sure that Yuriy Mykolayovych is worthy of respect: both for what he has achieved in football and for his clear civic position. But some people still have a lot to prove in football, although no achievements or status allow anyone to behave like that.

To be honest, I don't have any information about fines, but even if there are any, the club will take care of everything. It's not about the regulations, it's about respect and dignity," said Bayenko.
