Kyiv Dynamo, having coped with Scottish Rangers (1:1, 2:0) in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League, will play with Austrian Salzburg at the next stage of the tournament. Fans of this team had different attitudes towards the upcoming matches with the Kyivians.
Some of them are satisfied, as they consider Dynamo a weaker opponent than Twente. Therefore, they are confident that Salzburg will qualify for the Champions League group round without any problems.
Others did not want to play against Dynamo, but this is not due to game reasons, but political ones. Someone fears provocations of Russians and that the matches will be unsafe. Someone thinks that UEFA helps Dynamo to get to the group round, and someone is generally skeptical of Ukrainians (quite possibly Russians who live in Austria).
Interestingly, there are quite a few fans on local forums who are quite aware of the state of Ukrainian soccer in general, and Dynamo in particular.
Schwab: "Twente" was a very strong opponent. Stronger than "Rangers" and "Dynamo". We overestimated our capabilities after the first match and the first half in the Netherlands. We had to defeat Twente, but in the end we almost missed the victory. Do not underestimate the Ukrainians, they are a serious opponent, but still they are not as strong as the Dutch.
Djemil: I don`t see much difference between Rangers and Dynamo. They are teams of the same level, which was shown by the matches between them. Now I am more worried about the referee being neutral, not like the Italian in Glasgow, who decided to help the Ukrainians.
Reichmann: I don't know much about international politics, but I read that the Russians were expelled for attacking the territory of Ukraine. I generally support this decision, because I am against war in any country and any region of the world. But then I have a question: does UEFA disqualify Dynamo for seizing the Kursk region? After all, it turns out that now the Ukrainians are not just defending, but attacking Russia and seizing its territory. If that had happened, we wouldn't have to play with them.
Falb: I'm a bit scared of the matches with Dynamo. I'm sure that Salzburg are stronger and should qualify for the Champions League group stage, but I don't like the fact that the Ukrainians play pretty rough soccer, and they are supported by UEFA and their hand-picked referees.
Erwin: It would be much more difficult against Rangers. Playing power soccer with constant fouls is a dubious pleasure. The Scots constantly divert the ball into the penalty area to fight there. Ukrainians play more comfortable soccer for us, so it will be easier with them.
Drescher: I immediately started to watch the match between Rangers and Dynamo and I can say that I think that reaching the group round is a realistic task. "Twente looked much stronger than the Scots and Ukrainians.
Maxi: We have a very powerful attack, but we have big problems in defense. We need to be ready for the Ukrainians to score 4-5 goals in two matches, so we must score even more. I expect to see two productive matches and a lot of dangerous moments. Because the Ukrainians allowed the Scots a lot, but the level of Rangers players in attack leaves much to be desired.
Dungl: If you want to play in the group round of the Champions League, you must pass the teams of Dynamo Kyiv level. If we lose to the Ukrainians, it will be very unpleasant for Salzburg. Probably, it will lead to the sale of several more players from the main squad.
Bojagic: Actually, I wanted the opponent to be Rangers, because Dinamo always have this external emotional factor because of the war. As for the soccer, I wasn't impressed with them. But what is impressive is that Dynamo is almost entirely made up of local players. Of course, foreigners don't want to go there now, but they still put together a decent team, which has already passed two difficult opponents in qualification.
Volimte: They say that Dynamo passed Rangers with the help of a questionable penalty. I watched the brief review, there are indeed questions there. The Scots looked better before the suspension, the Ukrainians scored goals already at the end of the match. So I hope that our games will have normal referees.
Florian: If Ukrainian soldiers continue to take over Russian territory at such an impressive pace, they will soon be able to play their home matches in Moscow.
Konrath: I'm watching Rangers vs Dynamo right now... It's such a shame that the referee suspended a Scottish player for an infringement that didn't even happen. I hope that this is just an accident and not a wish from UEFA to help the Ukrainians to get into the group round of the Champions League.
Loidl: I watched the match "Rangers" - "Dynamo". Compared to the game "Twente" - "Salzburg" it was disgusting. It was like watching the game in slow motion. Both teams played badly, and the Ukrainians did not impress before they got the numerical advantage.
Welt: The positive side for us is that Twente are actually stronger than Rangers and Dynamo. If Salzburg continue to play like this and continue to gain form, they will pass the Ukrainians without any problems. If they will make such mistakes as after 60 minutes of today's match, and Dynamo will have a good day, then anything is possible.
Inom: I hope it will be without politics and political decisions. If you listen to Ukrainians, all the countries do not help them well enough. And some they openly despise, like Serbs, Hungarians and Slovaks. I wouldn't be surprised if they have some claims to the Austrians too.
Bernert: "Salzburg is definitely stronger than Dynamo. It will sound disrespectful to the opponent, but I will say this: if Salzburg will not qualify for the group round, it will be only because they will not play as well as they can. Because by the level of soccer and personnel potential we are much stronger than Dynamo.
Holtz: Now everyone is making different theories about how Salzburg will beat Dynamo. But what if the situation that happened today in Glasgow is repeated? What will happen if the referee removes our player at the moment when it is clear that Salzburg's game advantage should translate into goals? If it was a match with Rangers, I would be sure of victory. With Dynamo there are options, because any matches with Ukrainian clubs are not only soccer, but also politics.
Kerschbaumer: "Salzburg" is coming back. The same club that plays bright attacking soccer, but also allows opponents to play. We could have destroyed Twente today, but instead we almost missed the victory. But the progress of the team is obvious. If we pass Dynamo, which is quite realistic, we can expect a good result in the group stage.
Payerl: Dynamo have the whole main squad of Ukrainians. At Salzburg you know how things are with Austrian players. We were already constantly insulted for the transfer policy, and against the background of Kyiv club this criticism will increase tenfold.
Flicker: Matches with the Ukrainians are always some kind of scandals. With the Serbs ended with insults and unfriendly atmosphere. With the Scots a scandalous decision of the referee. What can we expect? That is why I did not want to play against the Ukrainians. In terms of soccer they are nothing special, but where they are, something unpleasant happens all the time.
