Karpaty defender: "I am glad that we managed to give a fight to the Ukrainian soccer giants".

In the central match of the third round of the Ukrainian championship Karpaty lost at home to Dynamo Kyiv - 1:3. Karpaty defender Denys Miroshnichenko shared his impressions of yesterday's encounter in Lviv.

- Despite the defeat, I believe that Karpaty are improving with each match. I am glad that we managed to give a fight to the grandee of Ukrainian soccer, on the other hand, somewhere it is a shame that at the score 1:2 we did not use our chances.

- Karpaty's rivalry with Dynamo resembled a ride on swings.

- Apparently, we still lack the strength to play all 90 minutes, as they say, in one breath. Still, we should not forget that Karpaty have just entered the elite, the beginning of the season, the manager has changed, there is a large group of new recruits, who need adaptation, as well as time for the whole team to fully understand each other. In addition, the players are not in the same condition.

- You became one of the newcomers of Karpaty, but Lviv is almost your hometown for you.

- I have a separate story. In my time I spent six seasons in Lviv, it was here that I was developing as a soccer player. Of course, I am very grateful for everything to Lviv club. I always felt the support of local fans. And after returning to Lviv, I felt that the attitude of the fans to me has not changed. It feels good and it gives me strength. Therefore, I really did not need time to adapt, but on the other hand, I had to prove that I do not occupy someone else's place in Karpaty. There are no untouchables at Karpaty.

- Didn`t you score a goal to Dynamo too early? After all, then you had to defend for a long time.

- What to guess now, we have what we have. That's how the puzzles came together. Apparently, we really lacked courage after we opened the score, we let the opponent too much at our possession. I don't rule out that we were unlucky somewhere, remembering Pihalenka's goal after a ricochet. Although the fact that the guests created more threats is a fact. The Kyivians used our mistakes better, when they took the lead and in the episode with the penalty awarded to Yarmolenko.

- What do you think about the actions of Kyiv team in this match?

- It is somewhere incorrect for me to evaluate the actions of Kyiv. So I'd better talk about Karpaty. Having conceded for the second time, the situation forced us to increase the momentum. With the support of the fans we managed to do it. The substitutions were also beneficial. We also need to review the episode, whether Ocheretko's fall in the penalty area was not a penalty for the guests, it is a shame that Stenio did not score from an advantageous position. There is still work to do, but I am convinced that we are acting more and more coherently.

- Then lastly, what did you and Yarmolenko talk about so vividly right after the final whistle?

- We are old acquaintances, because our paths have crossed many times. We shared the latest news, exchanged wishes. I would like Dynamo to stay in the Champions League as long as possible, while Karpaty have their own plans. We need to win leading positions in the domestic arena.
