Former Polish national team coach Franciszek Smuda dies

Former head coach of the Polish national team Franciszek Smuda died today in Krakow at the age of 76, Polish media report.

Smuda worked with the national team in 2009-2012. He worked with the team at Euro 2012, which was home to Ukraine and Poland.

As a football player, Smuda played for Rukh, Stal, Piast, Legia, American and German clubs. After his career as a footballer, he coached Turkish, Polish, Cypriot and German clubs, in addition to his country's national team.
