Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Andriy Yarmolenko answered questions from media representatives before the first match of the Champions League qualifying round playoffs against Salzburg Austria, which will take place tomorrow in Lublin.

Andriy Yarmolenko

- Can you compare your emotions before tomorrow's match with those before Euro 2024? When were you more excited?

- There are different kinds of excitement: when you are afraid of something or when you are looking forward to something. Of course, we all understand how important tomorrow's game will be - as important as the matches at the European Championship. That's why there is excitement, but it comes from the fact that there is an important game ahead for the players, fans, and the club as a whole. We are preparing in a normal, usual way. The most important thing tomorrow is to give our best on the pitch and show our best.

- Do you feel any pressure because Ukraine has dropped significantly in the coefficient table and you need to win so that we have more teams in the European competitions?

- No, we don't talk about it among ourselves, but of course we are monitoring the situation. We know that we haven't played in the Champions League for a long time, so we really want to get this ticket to the main stage.

- Unfortunately, you can't play home games at home in Ukraine, but there are a lot of Ukrainians living in Lublin, so how much will you feel at home here tomorrow?

- Of course, it is difficult for us that we cannot play at home in Kyiv. We know that many of our defenders are Dynamo fans, and we play for them first and foremost. As for the support we have in Lublin, I would say that there are indeed many Ukrainians here now, they were forced to move because of the terrorists who are killing our people - women and children. In the matches against both Partizan and Rangers, we felt their support, and I hope that tomorrow this support will be even greater.
