Famous journalist Igor Linnik has spoken about the defeat of Dynamo (0:2) in the first match of the Champions League play-off round with Salzburg.
"In my opinion, in the first game with Salzburg, Dynamo Kyiv had an overflow of emotions. It happens in sports - you are ready, confident, determined to win and thirst for it so much that this desire begins to control you, substituting rational, reasonable actions. Then from it grows vanity, haste, vagueness, on which then easily lies irritation and... on it goes.
Sometimes your opponent doesn't need to do anything special against you - it is enough for him to redirect your emotions to your self-destruction in a competent and cold-blooded way. Fortunately, in the game with Salzburg it did not reach this extreme stage - Dynamo tried to change the situation until the last second, created chances, but failed to score at least one goal... could not.
I wanted to write "did not have time" at first, but still "could not" - this evening, in this somewhat hurried and irritated state. I think that on the eve of the return leg, this emotional and temporal aspect is key!
Before the match in Salzburg, Shovkovskiy's team has enough time to calm down, as well as to analyze the individual and collective mistakes made. It is quite obvious that the balance of power in this pair and even the 0:2 scoreline still allow us to hope for revenge in Austria. I wouldn't try to measure the chances in percentages, because there is a feeling that we can win, for example, 4:1, and lose again the same 0:2. The main thing - "Salzburg" does not look ironclad", - wrote Linnyk in Facebook.
