Dynamo President Igor Surkis congratulated Ukrainians on the Independence Day of Ukraine.
Today we celebrate another anniversary of Ukraine's independence. In recent years, this holiday has been of particular importance, as it has been celebrated for the third year in a row during a full-scale Russian invasion. Ukraine continues to fight, resist and do everything to protect itself.
I sincerely thank our valiant defenders who show their strength, courage, endurance, and bravery and heroically fight for our independence, freedom, and statehood. They are doing their best to ensure that even in the most difficult moments, Ukraine retains its national dignity, unity and free and happy future, and that the blue and yellow flag flies in all corners of our country, in all Ukrainian cities and villages.
In this time of terrible disaster, the entire democratic world admires the indomitable spirit of the Ukrainian people, the resilience of our people and their thirst for victory. Unfortunately, we are paying too high a price for the opportunity to live in freedom - with the blood of our defenders and the tears of our women and mothers. It is tragic that many Ukrainians have lost their loved ones because of the war. But I am confident that everyone's efforts to bring about a just and lasting peace will be rewarded.
The players of Dynamo Kyiv have always been proud and honored to take to the field under the blue and yellow flag and represent our beautiful country. This is especially important in international matches, when we can draw the attention of the whole of Europe and the world to the terrible events taking place in Ukraine. And we continue to do our best and make every effort to bring our common Victory closer.
Ukraine will definitely win, prosper and have a happy destiny. Goodness, peace, tranquility and love will once again reign on our native land, and joy and pride for our country will return to our hearts.
We believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we help each other and fight to victory! Glory to Ukraine and Ukrainians!
