Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola commented on the 4-1 victory over Ipswich in the 2nd round of the English Championship. The coach also focused on the return of experienced midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, who came on as a substitute in the second half.
"It was a good game. We started very well. I am very happy to start the season this way.
Gundogan's return? I didn't think about putting him on the field, but the opponent was running out on the counterattack dangerously. Gundogan reads the game perfectly. It was an incredibly warm welcome from everyone. I am happy because I know he is incredibly happy to be back," Guardiola told BBC Sport.
