Ivan Getsko: "Dynamo players, by and large, have nothing to lose"

Former Ukrainian national team player Ivan Getsko shared his expectations from the second leg of the UEFA Champions League playoffs between Salzburg and Dynamo, which will take place today in Austria:

Ivan Getsko

- By and large, Dynamo have nothing much to lose, as they have already guaranteed themselves a European Cup fall. At the very least, it will be the Europa League, but they can still hit the jackpot and make it to the main part of the Champions League. First of all, it all depends on them.

- Then clarify what should happen after the 0-2 loss in the first match in Lublin for Oleksandr Shovkovskyi's team to take revenge in Austria with the right score?

- They had the right conditions to prepare for the confrontation. Dynamo has experience on its side, but Salzburg is a very young team and the Ukrainian club knows how to achieve the desired. First of all, the bet will be made on a quick goal, on intensity, high pressure. And if we are lucky enough to score, then the intrigue and possible options will immediately return.

- You said if you are lucky enough to score.

- Unfortunately, in Lublin there were serious problems with the realization, remember what moments Yarmolenko had. And the tip - Vanat - gave up, although I was sure that he would add. Apparently, he lacks character. Still, I hope that Yarmolenko will correct his aim, perhaps Pikhalenko's "cannon" will come in handy.

- Will there be any changes in the starting lineup compared to the first match in Lublin?

- I think that Tymchyk will play instead of Karavaev, who once again proved that he is a man of mood, sometimes playing well, sometimes mediocre. And Kyiv will need Tymchyk's speed today. Voloshin's appearance is possible in the second half, when Yarmolenko gets tired, or instead of Vanat.

- Then finally, do you believe in Dynamo's progress?

- This is a very difficult question. We considered the options from Dynamo, but the "citizens" also want to play in the most prestigious European football tournament, they are well trained, focused on attack, although they are not without fault in defense. So, a lot will depend on who makes the best use of the opponent's mistakes. Dynamo still has a chance to advance to the next round of the Champions League, but it is not a great one.
