Anton Tsarenko: "I came to Lechia for game practice. I hope we will help each other"

During yesterday's briefing Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Anton Tsarenko commented on his transfer on loan to Polish Lechia from Gdansk, and also told how his adaptation in this team is going on.

Anton Tsarenko

- I came to Gdansk right after the end of Dynamo's off-season training camp. The team received me very well, and Gdansk is a nice city. I am very glad that I joined a club with such a rich history. We have common goals and we want to strive to achieve them together.

When I received an offer to join Lechia, I knew that this team already has Ukrainian legionnaires. Of course, their presence helps me adapt and gives me confidence. We understand each other better on the soccer field.

- What is the difference between Dynamo and Lechia?

- Both Dynamo and Lechia, as well as all other teams, have their pros and cons. First of all, I came here for game practice - at my age I need to play. I hope that I will help Lechia, and Lechia will help me, and together we will improve our position in the Polish championship. Yes, now Lechia has a difficult tournament situation (last place in the Polish championship after six rounds - ed.), but I believe that this team has everything to not only rise higher, but also to fight for places at the top of the standings.

- The Polish league is, first of all, a physically strong league. With your diminutive stature, how do you find your way in such realities?

- I realize that I am a short player. But I have my advantages and I know what to lean on and how I can compete against more physically strong players.
