Oleg Fedorchuk: "Compared to the previous match, Popov's progress is obvious"

Famous Ukrainian coach and authoritative expert Oleh Fedorchuk evaluated the performance of each of Dynamo Kyiv's players in the return match with Sacklburg Austria (1:1) in the Champions League qualifying round.

Oleg Fedorchuk

Georgiy Bushchan - 7.0

- A confident performance, although, like in the previous meeting, he did not have much to do. In this match, he had to take some risks, there was one "fire" due to inconsistency, but he coped with the threats. There can be no significant complaints about him.

Vladyslav Dubinchak - 6.5

- Very energized, motivated and resilient. But his tactical savvy, it must be stated, does not currently correspond to the level of the Champions League. He also needs to establish chemistry with Kabaev on the left flank. In general, Dubinchak looks quite promising, but he needs to progress.

Denys Popov - 6.5

- Compared to the previous match, the progress is obvious. However, there were a few episodes where he acted nervously again: he threw himself at the opponent, leaving the zone. In some moments, the opponent forgave him. Denis plays too risky for this position, he needs to act with a cool head, making rational decisions.

Taras Mikhavko - 7.5

- Of the matches I have seen him play, this is the best. At this level, at this age... This is a fantastic opportunity for such a player. I said after Maksym Dyachuk's injury: "Why not repeat the case of Zabarnyi?". And now he is following Ilya's path, but I think Mykhavko is more promising. Taras has a great feel for the game, performs so many constructive actions... I don't remember a player like him in our team.

There is no fuss in Mykhavko and another very important point is that he is not afraid to make mistakes. This is a very important virtue for a player, especially a young one. Pyatov and Trubin, if they made mistakes, did so with a confident expression on their faces. And this cannot be learned. Therefore, Mikhavko can already be considered as a replacement for Matvienko in the national team of Ukraine. And based on this game, I'd say that Taras is currently even better than the more experienced Shakhtar defender.

Oleksandr Tymchyk - 7.0

- His appearance in this match proved once again that he is rightfully the main man in his position in the national team. "Dynamo missed Tymchyk in the previous game, and the result could have been different. He plays at a fairly fast pace, he and Yarmolenko understand each other perfectly.

Volodymyr Brazhko - 6.0

- I don't believe he could have played like that... Most likely, these are the consequences of some kind of illness or injury. Brazhko hasn't looked like himself for several games in a row, he's being changed again... There are no usual shots, no threat, and no reliability. In general, he played very passively, something is clearly bothering him.

Mykola Shaparenko - 6.0

- Again, he added only at the end of the match. Shaparenko has not yet reached his best physical condition. It is noticeable that during the match he gives himself the opportunity to rest. This is unacceptable if he wants to play at a high level. He is not 34 years old, like Yarmolenko, to behave like that. Mykola's position requires constant mobility and a lot of work.

Oleksandr Pikhalonok - 6.5

- Better than Shaparenko today, but... We remember Pikhalonok's best matches, he is used to playing first fiddle. When Yarmolenko plays next to him, it is Andriy who draws all the attention. And again, Yarmolenko is replaced, and only then does Pikhalenok become more noticeable...

Vladyslav Kabaev - 6.5

- His active play is no longer surprising. He outplayed his opponent on the flank and was set up for a goal. As for the moment with the sprint, Kabaev didn't finish the episode there - he had to look for the addressee. He has already reached a new level, but today Vladyslav did not demonstrate his maximum potential.

Andriy Yarmolenko - 6.0

- Compared to the previous match, he performed better, although he did not have any special moments. Andriy is very inventive, in some episodes he surprised with his technical skill. But it seems to me that in most cases the opponents read his plans quite easily.

I would like to note that Yarmolenko works very hard on the field, "plows". This is an example for the players when a veteran throws himself into the fight and does not spare himself. He is currently the heart of this team. "Dynamo is not yet ready to play without Yarmolenko, and there is no equivalent replacement for him. I had hopes for Brazhko's leadership qualities, but he hasn't been himself for a while.

Vladyslav Vanat - 7.0

- Last time I rated him very low, but in this match he looked much better. He scored a goal, did a lot of running work, so he can be praised. But Vanat alone is not enough for Dynamo if the team wants to show results in European competitions.
