Granada head coach is not satisfied with the situation with Tsitaishvili

Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Giorgi Tsitaishvili, who moved on loan to Spanish Granada at the end of July, received a call-up to the Georgian national team for the September Nations League matches against Czech Republic (September 7) and Albania (September 10). This caused displeasure of Granada head coach Guillermo Abascal.

Giorgi Tsitaishvili

The fact that this club plays in the Segunda (the second highest ranked division in Spain), where there is no pause for national team matches. On September 7, Granada will play the match of the 4th round of the tournament against Deportivo, and Tsitaishvili will not play in this meeting.

In this regard, the Granada coach during his regular press conference demanded the introduction of a unified calendar in club soccer.

"Club tournaments should be put on pause when it is time for national team matches. In total, there are five such "windows" during the season. Accordingly, players like Tsitaishvili, who are called up to their national teams, may miss eight to ten games of their club during the season. This should be regulated, everyone should be in equal conditions," Abaskal said.

Recall, the national team of Georgia plays in the same Nations League group with the national team of Ukraine.
