"Benfica is considering inviting former Juventus coach Massimilano Allegri to become the team's head coach.
According to Corriere dello Sport, yesterday in Lisbon, the agent of Giovanni Branquini was spotted negotiating with Benfica. The 57-year-old specialist can replace Roger Schmidt, who was dismissed for poor results at the start of the season.
This could be Allegri's first experience working abroad. He has won six Serie A titles with Milan and Juventus, five Coppa Italia and three Italian Super Cups.
Interestingly, Benfica will play against Juventus in the Champions League on January 29.
