"Friday will be my last match for my country. It was not easy to make this decision, but I am doing it with a cool head and the understanding that I will show my best in my last game.

I wouldn't trade the Copa America title for anything. It was the best moment of my career. I wouldn't trade it for anything," beinSPORTS quoted Suarez as saying.

The former Barcelona and Liverpool striker is considered one of the best players of his generation, and he will finish his career in international football as the top scorer of the Uruguayan national team, having scored 69 goals in 142 matches. Suarez helped Uruguay win the 2011 Copa America, where he was named the tournament's Player of the Year.
