Well-known manager and expert Vyacheslav Zakhovailo shared his impressions of the match of the 1st round of the 2024/25 Nations League Ukraine - Albania (1:2), which took place yesterday in Prague.
"The beginning of the season. A lot of things are unknown about the state of the players. In the first half, it was striking that, for example, a group of Shakhtar players do not yet have the right playing tone. Dynamo players, on the contrary, were in good condition. I will even say more: they managed to recover after a difficult August in the Champions League qualification. All the others, the legionnaires, were "on freshe".
The first half was about nothing from both teams. They were looking out for each other. In the second half Ukraine started well. After scoring a goal, it was thought that Albanians were on the shovel. But that was not the case. For unknown reasons we allowed them to play on their best qualities, namely, on counterattacks. Corner kicks at our gates still cause panic among the fans.
I will be brief. We lost where we should have won. Our transitions from defense to attack are still not working well. I am not talking about the intensity on the ball at all. There were flashes in the second half, but it was not enough. I hope we will improve everything against the Czech Republic.
