Last Friday, the Romanian national team played its first match under new head coach, former Dynamo Kyiv coach Mircea Lucescu, beating Kosovo 3-0 in the Nations League. On the eve of the next match, against Lithuania, the 79-year-old specialist spoke about his communication with the players of the national team.
"In the period of such matches, discussions with players, analysis are important. After the game against Kosovo, I congratulated the team and said very important words. The words are not mine, the words of Napoleon: "The greatest danger is the moment of victory". They should understand the meaning of this phrase on the eve of the match with Lithuania. In soccer there are no small teams anymore, there are no big teams, there are 11 players on the pitch against 11 others," Lucescu said at the pre-match press conference.
