England's interim head coach Lee Carsley assured that his refusal to stand for the national anthem will not hurt his chances of getting rid of the "acting" prefix.
- I am very lucky with the people who work in the association. They know my strengths and will not ask me to be something I am not.
My strength is coaching, being on the training field. I understand that talking is something that is part of the job, as I saw yesterday. I have my own way of doing it," Lee Carsley said.
Carsley immediately stated that he would not sing the English national anthem. The 50-year-old specialist was born and raised in Birmingham, but during his playing career he represented the Irish national team, where his grandmother comes from. Interestingly, he did not sing the Irish anthem either.
