The head coach of the U-21 youth national team of Ukraine Unai Melgosa commented on the Euro 2025 (U-21) qualifying match against Northern Ireland.
"The team won, so in terms of the result and points scored, we achieved our goal. At the same time, in the second half, we felt strong pressure from the Northern Ireland national team and lost the initiative, began to lose in martial arts. It is good that we managed to hold on to the victory. Unfortunately, we did not manage to realize all our chances, but at the same time we gained valuable experience in matches of this level. Nevertheless, despite some problems, we were generally better than our opponents. I am satisfied with my players, and not only Voloshin and Bragaru. I don't want to single out any of the players, because everyone can score in any match. I believe that they are working very well at their age. You can't be relaxed and hungry for the game just a little bit, because then you can't talk about achieving high goals. This also applies to this qualifying tournament - you should not relax. At the same time, we need to celebrate victories, but we must maintain a balance between emotions and work," Melgosa said.
As reported earlier, the youth team has already qualified for the finals of Euro 2025.
