Unbelievable bad luck! Both Boavista goalkeepers tore cruciate ligaments in the same training session

A truly rare case happened to Portuguese side Boavista. Both goalkeepers were injured in one training session. At the same time, the injuries of the goalkeepers are exactly the same and sent them to the infirmary for a long time.

João Gonçalves and Luis Pires

Both Joao Gonçalves and Luis Pires during one of the last training sessions of Boavista, with a difference of a few minutes, got ruptures of the cruciate ligament of the knee and now will recover for at least six months.

At the same time, the Portuguese club is currently under a transfer ban from FIFA. As a result, Boavista are left with only youth team goalkeepers - 17-year-olds Tome Souza and Thomas Macaes.

In this situation, Boavista was helped by its former goalkeeper, 32-year-old Brazilian Cesar Dutra, who left the club last summer due to the expiration of his contract and is still a free agent (accordingly, he is not subject to the transfer ban). This goalkeeper is expected to play for Boavista until Gonçalves and Pires return to the field.
