Salvatore Scillaci, the best scorer of the 1990 World Cup, has died

Former Juventus, Inter and Italian national team striker Salvatore Scillaci, who became the top scorer at the 1990 FIFA World Cup, died today at the age of 59 after a serious illness.

The future scorer was born in Palermo on December 1, 1964 and learned to play football at a local school. At the World Cup, which took place in the Apennines, Scillaci scored six times, and in total he had 7 goals in 16 matches for the national team.

He suffered from colon cancer and had two surgeries.

    Скиллачи это романтика футбола, такого счастья от игры в глазах сейчас практически не увидишь, да и тогда было мало. Забивал он на ЧМ мячи дичайшими неправильными ударами и все чудом залетало. И радовался этому как ребенок. Жаль, что такой искренний человек так рано ушел
