"I don't remember the last time Dynamo received such a high-quality foreign player" - Viktor Vatsko about Brian Ceballos

The well-known Ukrainian commentator Viktor Vatsko expressed his thoughts on the debut of defender Brian Sebljos for Dynamo Kyiv.

"As Shovkovsky said earlier, Seballos' time has come. In fact, Bryan was supposed to make his debut in the Dynamo first team a week ago, in the match against Zorya, but he was poisoned by something. Therefore, it is understandable that Shovkovskyi did not risk putting him in the lineup for Zorya.

But with Vorskla, Brian has already played in the first team. And he showed a lot of good things. Work with the ball, 98% of accurate passes, aggressiveness in the fight, intransigence. In my opinion, he is stylistically different from all the other central defenders at Dynamo. He is fast, very sharp, and plays a lot ahead of the ball. I really like his aggressiveness. And with Rukh, he played even better than with Vorskla, if we are talking about defense. And here I put the goal against Vorskla in brackets: after all, goals are not the direct responsibility of central defenders. But of course, it was funny when the transfer of a freak to Dynamo was almost "stabbed" because he was too short, and he scored in the first match with a header.

So here it is. Seballos won absolutely all the martial arts in defense in the match against Rukh. He won four out of five martial arts. He won four out of five fights for the neutral ball. He may not be very tall, but how he jumps! The Rukh winger is 187 cm tall and plays very well in the air, so Ceballos completely outplayed him.

It is obvious that Seballos still needs to get used to the intensity of our championship, to the fact that, unlike in Brazil, where he played before, our strikers are not very good at playing with the ball, but they fight furiously for the ball. Therefore, when you work with the ball, you need to make decisions much faster. Under Rukh's pressure, Ceballos lost the ball 15 times. This is a lot, but in the end, we are now talking about a new foreign player who has only played two matches, who is just adapting. And for me, the positive aspects of his football, his playing qualities, significantly outweigh the negative aspects, which I think are quite easy to eradicate.

In this case of Ceballos, I want to note one more important thing. It is something that is not typical of Dynamo Kyiv, the specifics of Dynamo Kyiv, where for many years the principle that it is better to keep quiet so as not to anger those who have influence prevailed. In this story, I recall a summer interview with Yevhen Khacheridi, a newly minted scout at Dynamo, where he publicly defended Seballos, defended the decision to acquire this player, and ultimately defended the choice of the scouting department. For 1.2 million dollars or euros, Ceballos is a top signing for a Ukrainian football club. Top signing! If Dynamo doesn't activate the buyout option (Brian is currently on loan), I would think for a second and then play for the interception if I were a Ukrainian club for whom paying a million for a quality player is not a problem.

The fact that he finally has responsible, self-sufficient figures in the scouting department at the club who are able to make decisions for the benefit of Dynamo and defend and protect their decisions. Artem Kravets, Zhenya Khacheridi, these Dynamo youngsters are just great! And I think the signing of Ceballos is a huge plus if we are talking about the transfer work of Dynamo Kyiv.
