Al Hilal Saudi Arabia head coach Jorge Jesus responded to the comments made by the Netherlands national team coach Ronald Koeman on Steven Bergwijn's move to Al Ittihad.
"Koeman has no right to make such statements because he knows nothing about our championship. And the players in Saudi Arabia cannot be compared to the Dutch league. His league is not exactly the second division, but it is one of the weakest leagues in Europe. Each team has ten foreigners, all or almost all of whom belong to their national teams. It's a very strong championship.
Saudi Arabia is a great country, a country where there are rules and security. This is not the case in Europe, a country where any citizen feels safe. It is a country with a huge capacity for evolution. I think that in the next 10 years, Saudi Arabia should become a country worth paying attention to, not only in football, but in any activity in the world," A Bola quoted Jesus as saying.
As a reminder, the Dutch national team coach suspended Bergwijn from the national team after he moved to Saudi Arabia.
