Oleksandr Ilyushchenkov, a 34-year-old goalkeeper for Karpaty, was offered a coaching job by the club's management. However, the veteran did not agree, as he was not going to hang up his boots on a nail.
Ilyushchenkov lost the competition to younger Oleksandr Kemkin and Yakiv Kinareikin. He wasn't even included in the application, but since he is still under contract with the Green and Whites until the end of the season, he continues the training process. Ilyushchenkov can find a job with another team only in the new year, when he terminates his agreement with Karpaty.
However, Ilyushchenkov may still stay at Karpaty, provided that Kemkin or Kinareikin receive a favorable offer and are sold to other clubs.
