Atalanta fans: "For teams of Shakhtar's level, a new tournament needs to be invented - the League of Losers"

The Italians are pleased that Atalanta confidently beat Shakhtar 3-0, but they urge not to rush to global conclusions about the Italian club's performance, as the opponent was of an extremely low level, failing to even shoot on goal once in 90 minutes of play. Atalanta fans also discuss whether the Champions League reform has really made the tournament stronger or changed it for the worse.

Arcoverde: "Atalanta played poorly, there were many individual and team mistakes. There were many missed chances. But Shakhtar played so badly that we somehow managed to score three goals against them. The victory is good, but the quality of the game leaves much to be desired.

Karjon: A 3-0 win is a gift for Shakhtar. Our team realized early on that Shakhtar were not capable of anything, so they either started to save their energy or just didn't really want to go forward.

Albi: Five years ago, we also beat Shakhtar with the same score in the Champions League. But then the game of both teams looked much more interesting, despite the fact that the Ukrainians lost. Today I feel like I watched a Conference League match.

Giordano: Despite the Champions League reform, there are still a lot of weak teams playing in this tournament. "Shakhtar, Slovan, Red Star, Salzburg, Celtic. Out of 36 clubs, only 15-20 are high-level teams.

Prioste: The season could be considered a failure until Atalanta met Shakhtar. The victory over the Ukrainians should give the team confidence. It's time to start winning, especially in Serie A.

Adelino: In 2019, Shakhtar played their "home" match in Kharkiv. In 2024, it will play its "home" match in Gelsenkirchen. I'm afraid to imagine where Shakhtar will be in 2029, in Lisbon? Seriously, I would like to wish them to return home as soon as possible.

Faverani: It's strange that Bologna couldn't beat such a weak opponent. I support all Italian teams in European competitions, so I'm upset that Bologna couldn't beat Shakhtar.

Talotti: I don't follow Shakhtar, so I don't know how they played in the Champions League in previous seasons, but I can say for sure that in 2019 they were a top-level team.

Mangia: Judging by the results of Ukrainian clubs in this season's European Cup tournaments, they are clearly not up to football right now. It's even strange that the same Shakhtar is playing in the Champions League.

Alberto: Despite the final result, I wouldn't praise the team too much. The opponent played so badly that we looked solid against them. In fact, the Ukrainians simply forgot about defense, so any of our attacks became potentially scoring.

Bellini: The Champions League reform has shown that there are no 36 high-level teams in Europe. UEFA should not expand this tournament, but return to the 1990s or early 2000s, when we watched the best 16 or 24 teams play. "Shakhtar would definitely not have even made it to the top 24 in those days.

Situ: Clubs from Ukraine, Slovakia, Croatia, Austria, Switzerland, Serbia, etc. are all redundant in the Champions League. UEFA needs to finally recognize that either the best teams in Europe will play in this tournament, even if they are ranked 5th in their league. Or it should be the champions of their countries, then there will be no questions. But if the 5th or 6th team from the top championship plays much better than the champion, then what else can we talk about?

Micheletti: We can only hope that this was Shakhtar's worst game in the Champions League, but they will still be able to take points from our competitors in the fight for the top places in this tournament.

Carlo: A 3-0 win is always good. But let's wait for the next matches to be able to draw any serious conclusions about the improvements in Atalanta's game. The opponent didn't strain our defense at all today.

Pagnon: After the third goal, Atalanta played poorly, a lot of chances were missed. There was a lack of concentration in the attack. I understand that the opponent is very weak and it was difficult to tune in to him in the second half, but it may turn out that after the 8th round they will count the difference in goals scored and conceded. And our opponents will win against Shakhtar with a much bigger score.

Manzoni: Atalanta, the worst team in recent years, easily wins away from home against a team from the second basket with a score of 3-0. Is it a miracle? Unfortunately, no. It's just a bad game by our opponent.

Dellaman: I wouldn't laugh too much at Shakhtar. They played really badly, but the Ukrainians have one point after two games, and AC Milan has two defeats in two rounds.

Lui: Shakhtar have 0 shots on goal in 90 minutes. After all, our defense this season is not only plagued by injuries, but also unreliable. Can we say that Atalanta played their best game of the season? Perhaps we can. But just don't forget about Shakhtar's extremely low level.

Corti: I saw Sudakov on the pitch only after the final whistle. Do I understand correctly that this is the player for whom Shakhtar demanded 70 million euros? Many Atalanta fans still remember Kovalenko. Later it turns out that all these Shakhtar stars are worthless.

Amarante: A new tournament needs to be invented for Shakhtar and other teams of this level. We can call it the League of Losers. What's the point of allowing Shakhtar, Slovan or Salzburg to play in the Champions League if they can't really compete with strong clubs? It was much more interesting for me to watch the match with Arsenal, even if we didn't win, than the game with Shakhtar. Only in matches with strong opponents can you understand the real strength of your team.
