Pep on Kovacic's double: "He saw how many goals Rodri scored in this position and decided to copy"

Thanks to a double by midfielder Mateo Kovacic, Manchester City defeated Fulham 3-2 in the 7th round of the English Championship. The Citizens' coach Pep Guardiola praised the Croatian and compared him to the injured Rodri, who usually plays a similar role.

"Kovacic? He's not a famous scorer, but maybe he saw how many goals Rodri scored in this position and decided to copy. Today he scored two fantastic goals.

It's hard to face such a strong team after playing in the Champions League, and Fulham is an incredible team. Marco Silva has been with the team for several years and they have brought in some very talented and experienced players. We knew it would be difficult, but we won," Guardiola told Sky Sports.
