Ivan Kalyuzhny: "I crossed paths with many who are now in the national team, both in Dynamo and Metalist academy"

Oleksandriya midfielder Ivan Kalyuzhny shared his emotions in connection with his debut call-up to the national team of Ukraine.

"I know many players who are now in the national team: I crossed paths with many of them both in Dynamo (Yaremchuk, Mykhailichenko, Tymchyk), and in Metalist academy (Kalyuzhny from 2015 to 2021 was a Dynamo player, but managed to play only for the youth and youth teams, after which he played on loan for Metalist 1925 and Rukh, - ed.). When I had the opportunity to play with them - we always communicated.

Gradually I`m getting used to the fact that I`m in the national team of Ukraine, but I don`t quite feel myself as a player of the national team. I think this feeling will come with the first training session.

Of course, I was excited when I learned about the call-up to the national team, because it was my dream. I worked and did everything on the soccer field to get into the national team of Ukraine. I am very glad that it happened. I want to show myself here, feel comfortable, train and help the team.
