Oleksandr Hrytsay: "There are questions about the support zone of the midfield of the national team of Ukraine"

Former Dnipro-1 coach Oleksandr Hrytsai shared his expectations for the Nations League match between Ukraine and Georgia.

"Georgia is currently leading our Nations League group with 6 points. I want our team to finally win. But the game will show how it will look like. The Georgian national team has gained momentum and is in good condition. It will be difficult for our team to play with them.

I am interested in what our lineup will be like. The goalkeeping position is more or less clear. Trubin will play in the frame. Zabarnyi and, most likely, Matvienko will play in the center back defense. But for me personally, the pair of central defenders would be Zabarnyi and Svatok. But this is on condition that Sashko is in good condition. On the left, Mykhailychenko will probably play in defense. Konoplya and Tymchyk are in the running for the right-back position. Regarding Tymchyk, I will say that the man performs a huge amount of physical work. Yes, maybe he lacks a little bit of quality in his finishing, but the fact that he gives his all on the field and does everything to win is a fact. There are questions about the midfield.

The Georgian national team is an interesting team. But away from home, they will probably play again, as always, in a 5-3-2 formation. They use Napoli's Kvaratskhelia and Lyon's Mikautadze up front. The Georgians are likely to play a low or medium block. And I think our team will not deviate from their game. Maybe they will speed up something. But it probably won't happen. Because Rebrov has his own vision of the game, when they control the ball, pull the opponent out and try to attack on the flanks or through the center. But, in my opinion, Ukrainians need to attack with a high block. Opponents should be pressed and the ball should be taken away from them. In principle, the Ukrainian national team does this with teams like Georgia. But in general, I wonder what our team will do in attack.

I think we will still hold and control the ball for most of the match. And we will also try to play by controlling the ball, as the team does under Rebrov," Hrytsai said.
