Myron Markevych, the former head coach of the Ukrainian national team, told us who he favors in tomorrow's Nations League clash in Poznan.
- In recent years, our tomorrow's opponents, led by French specialist Willy Sagnol, have been playing defensively, although Georgian football has always been known for its strong attack. This change in style, thanks to the quality organization of the game, was beneficial. The Georgians performed well at the recent Euro in Germany and are confidently leading the League of Nations. However, this does not mean that they are favorites in the confrontation with Ukraine.
In my opinion, a lot will depend on the attitude. Serhiy Rebrov's team is superior to the Georgians in class and must realize their "trump cards". They also have to realize that what's at stake is maintaining their "residence" in League B. Indeed, our national team has been plagued by injuries lately, but there are still enough capable performers. Tomorrow, let Heorhii Sudakov prove that he deserves to play in the top championship, and Artem Dovbyk will finally prove himself not only at the club level.
I believe in the Ukrainian national team, I am convinced that it will not lose, although, given the tournament situation, we are not satisfied with this result. Therefore, we will expect more from our guys," the expert said.
