Czech Republic head coach Ivan Hasek commented on his team's victory over Albania (2-0) in yesterday's match of the 3rd round of the Nations League.
"It was a very decent game from our side. The match itself was interesting. We had the advantage, we didn't concede for the first time in this Nations League, we acted responsibly and played at a high tempo. Thanks to the spectators who supported us, we brought the match to a winning end. I think you can tell from the team how determined they are and they don't want to lose.
But it was obvious that Albanians have quality, we had to pay attention to their every action. And I have to praise the team for the way they played the game. We need to build on that.
Of course, we kept in mind the upcoming match with Ukraine. It is important that we will be ready in two days and will be able to repeat what we managed today. There will not be much time for recovery. Depending on the condition of the guys, we will decide what changes we need to make in our starting lineup for the match with Ukraine.
Now everyone can see how balanced our group is. But we will play until the end, because we have a goal - to qualify for the World Cup in 2026," said Gasek at the post-match press conference.
