A loan deal is a very important option for the development of young players. If a player can't make it to the first team right after the youth team, he needs to gain experience in another team.
Oleksii Husiev. Photo by O. PopovToday, Dynamo's first team has had a number of players on loan, including Oleksandr Tymchyk, Vladyslav Dubinchak, Maksym Dyachuk, Mykola Mykhailenko, Nazar Voloshyn, Vladyslav Vanat, and Volodymyr Brazhko.
In the summer, one of the leaders of Dynamo's youth team (which became the champion) and a semifinalist in the UEFA Youth Euros, Oleksiy Husyev, went on loan to Zorya. So far, this transfer leaves more questions than it answers.
Gusev has not yet played at the UPL level. He appeared only in the Cup. He played two games in the youth championship (in Dynamo he would have played all the matches here). In the summer, Zorya released Bohdan Butko. However, they recruited Slovenian right-back Jan Trontel. Plus, the team has another right back, Ihor Kiryukhantsev. Plus, the Brazilian Juninho can play here (he came on in the last game against Veres). It turns out that Oleksiy is only the third or fourth player in his position.
The coach is a very important factor. Volodymyr Brazhko made such a serious progress because at that time Zorya was led by Patrick van Leeuwen. The Dutch coach is very good at working with young players and discovering new names. Oleksandr Yatsyk, a player with no less potential than Brazhko, has been playing for Zorya on loan for the second season, but he has not yet had a breakthrough. At one time, Yuriy Vernydub allowed Oleksandr Tymchyk and Bohdan Mykhailychenko to progress.
The Koval-Bartulovych tandem is unlikely to ensure the progress of a young player. Yurii Hryhorovych is a man of the older generation. He is not a modern coach at all. He cannot develop players a priori. Mladen hasn't worked much on his own yet. He is still a young coach who is going through his formation. With such specialists, it will not be very easy for a young player to develop. I really hope that another coach (Željko Lubenović) will join the team in the winter, which will give young players the opportunity to grow.
At the same time, Dynamo's youth team has big problems with the right back. In fact, there is only one - Oleksiy Rybak. When he got an ankle injury in September, it got really bad. There is simply no choice of players. Maksym Korobov, who has no skills on the wing because he has played in the center of defense all his life, is coming to the right back position.
It turns out that Gusev is not developing at all at Zorya. The most he can expect is to train with the first team. There is no development. At the same time, the right-back position is hanging in the Dynamo youth team. Ihor Kostiuk's team will play in the UEFA Youth League this season.
Oleksiy needs to play. If this situation continues for the whole season, he will already be in the role of a catch-up player. I do not believe that he does not reach the level of the UPL. In terms of his physical qualities, Husiev is already ready for such a challenge. If Zorya doesn't need him, there are other teams where he can get game practice.
