Oleg Fedorchuk: "Against the Czech national team, we must play as number two"

Oleg Fedorchuk, a well-known coach in the past and now an expert at , shared his expectations for the Nations League match between Ukraine and the Czech Republic.

- First of all, a lot will depend on the recovery process. Our national team had to play a rather grueling match with the Georgians, moreover, on a sticky lawn in Poznan. Although a positive result should be useful, because we won our first victory in the League of Nations. I think that this will be the basis for coach Serhiy Rebrov to determine who will go into battle today. A mistake in the choice can be very expensive.

- In your opinion, which of our players in the previous match with the Georgians did not quite fit into the ensemble?

- Oleksiy Hutsulyak, Ivan Kalyuzhny did not always keep up in the support area, although they played well for their debut. Of course, we expected more from Artem Dovbyk. This grenadier has a lot of potential, but so far there is a lot of controversy in his actions, hence the goal drought in the main team of the country.

- Do you foresee changes in these positions today?

- Since I am outside the national team, it is difficult to predict anything. Moreover, Dovbyk was absent from yesterday's training. Although I will not be surprised to see Taras Stepanenko, Oleksandr Zubkov and Roman Yaremchuk appear from the first minutes.

- We have touched upon the personnel issue, but what about tactics?

- I believe that we should focus on playing as a second team. The Czechs are physically strong, they will press across the width, we have to be patient and wait for our chance on the counterattack. And in a positional offense, you can't avoid threats, because our defense is not mobile and will have time to return to the rear when the opponent, figuratively speaking, is already coming out of the shower.

I would also advise our guys not to break the rules on the wings, which they did in the match against Georgia, because the Czechs are much better on the second floor and on the rebounding.

- Then finally, how will today's confrontation in Wroclaw end?

- Of course, I want the Ukrainians to take revenge for their defeat in Prague, but I'm inclined to think that there will be a draw. This is also a good achievement that allows us to continue the fight for promotion. Especially since our second team plays worse in the dual matches.
