Rummenigge: "Players and their agents are to blame for the increase in the number of matches"

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bayern Munich, shared his thoughts on increasing the number of games during the season.

"The players and their agents have been the initiators of creating a busy schedule. By demanding higher and higher salaries, they are forcing clubs to generate more and more revenue. And how will the clubs generate this revenue? Through more matches," Bild quoted Rummenigge as saying.

This summer, Bayern, along with 11 other European clubs, will participate in the revamped Club World Cup, a tournament that has been the subject of much debate due to the additional workload on players.
