Rukh head coach Vitaliy Ponomarev spoke about the team's preparations for the Ukrainian championship match against Karpaty.
"Now the team is facing a busy schedule, but all clubs are on equal footing. During this period, we will need to pay more attention to the players' recovery. We do not single out a particular opponent, but prepare responsibly for each match, because every match is important to us. For us, it makes no difference whether Rukh plays against Karpaty, Shakhtar or Ingulets - the team prepares for each opponent in the same way.
"Karpaty is a more experienced team, if you look at the average age of their team. I think the clubs now have different development vectors and goals, because Rukh is made up mostly of young Lviv boys. Whereas Karpaty rely on legionnaires. Also, the budget of our next opponent exceeds Rukh's budget, but the game decides everything on the field. Currently, our task is to create conditions for our young players to progress and for Rukh to stick to its development strategy," Ponomaryov was quoted as saying by Rukh's official website.
