Former Manchester United and Portugal player takes away T-shirt from fan who asked for autograph (VIDEO)

Former Manchester United midfielder and 2016 European Championship winner Luis Nani, who now plays for Estrela Amadora in Portugal's top flight, is caught up in a scandal.

The fact is that after training, the 37-year-old player accidentally met a fan near the stadium. The fan asked him to sign a shirt with Nani's name on it, which he wore at Euro 2016. However, the Portuguese decided not to give him the shirt back.

The fan explained that he had purchased it in an online store and stated on social media that it was not official merchandise. The victim later turned to the police. The fan said he wanted to return the shirt or at least his money, namely 225 euros.

Recently, Nani's official representatives responded to the scandalous incident, saying that their client apologizes for the misunderstanding, but he is sure that the T-shirt belongs to him.

"Nani recognized this T-shirt from his private collection, which was previously stolen in 2017. At that time, several of them appeared on sale on the Internet, but the player was unable to return all of them.

The item, which the player kept yesterday after a fan asked for an autograph, as seen in the video, was sent away for verification to determine if it was a jersey stolen from his private collection. After taking it away, Nani asked the fan where he had purchased it and promised that it would be returned to him if he confirmed that it was not his.

Since it was an item of high emotional value for the player, as this shirt was used in the game that took Portugal to the Euro 2016 final, where Nani scored a goal, the player reacted emotionally, wanting to confirm that it was not the one that was stolen from him," Record quoted Nani's representative as saying.

It is not yet known whether the conflict was resolved.
